Sumo Logic Bolsters Cloud Security, Compliance and Operational Capabilities with Amazon VPC Flow Logs Integration

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – Aug. 19, 2015Sumo Logic, the industry’s leading cloud-native machine data analytics service, today announced new integration with AWS VPC Flow Logs to help enterprises improve their application operational, security and compliance posture, with a better visibility into application and user activity across AWS infrastructure.

Sumo Logic’s platform now integrates with AWS VPC Flow Logs to give customers the ability to process, analyze and visualize VPC Flow Logs. This integration provides organizations with the ability to strengthen their operations, security and compliance posture by providing deeper visibility and visualizations into critical network flows such as source and destination IP addresses, actions taken (Accept/Reject), what VPC subnet or Elastic Network Interfaces (ENI) were involved, packet and byte count information, the time interval during which the flow was observed, trending analysis for behaviors over time, and more.

“Sumo Logic’s ability to support VPC Flow Logs is critical for our security team to have full stack visibility,” said Jarrod Sexton, security engineer at Interactive Intelligence. “It allows us to capture and analyze traffic flow for all network interfaces, increasing our security posture over time, and do this in a seamless and consistent manner across our entire AWS infrastructure.”

The integration with AWS VPC Flow Logs further demonstrating Sumo Logic’s commitment to future-proofing customer investments, delivering critical security and operational insights customers need to be successful. Sumo Logic has also announced key industry recognitions including:

AWS Security Competency Partner Designation Sumo Logic analytics platform complements existing AWS services and enables companies to develop a comprehensive security monitoring and response architecture with a seamless experience across their cloud and on-premises environments.

PCI Security Standards Council and Special Interest Group – Sumo Logic has joined the PCI Security Standards Council as a participating organization, and is also part of the “Effective Daily Log Monitoring" group to provide guidance and techniques on improving daily log monitoring and forensic breach investigations to meet Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) requirements.

"The promise of the cloud presents huge opportunities for security professionals, but also challenges around data management and analytics." said Joan Pepin, vice president of security and CISO at Sumo Logic. "By integrating with Amazon, we are defining cloud best practices and bringing a new level of business maturity to the cloud -- allowing organizations to gain greater visibility and automate compliance and security processes across their cloud or hybrid infrastructure.”
